Bank of India

Bank of India was founded on 7th September, 1906 by a group of eminent businessmen from Mumbai. The Bank was under private ownership and control till July 1969 when it was nationalised along with 13 other banks.

Beginning with one office in Mumbai, with a paid-up capital of Rs.50 lakh and 50 employees, the Bank has made a rapid growth over the years and blossomed into a mighty institution with a strong national presence and sizable international operations. In business volume, the Bank occupies a premier position among the nationalized banks.

The Bank has over 5100 branches in India spread over all states/ union territories including specialized branches. These branches are controlled through 68 Zonal Offices and 12 NBG Offices. There are 44 branches/ offices and 4 Subsidiaries and 1 joint venture abroad.

The Bank came out with its maiden public issue in 1997 and follow on Qualified Institutions Placement in February 2008 and in August 2021.

While firmly adhering to a policy of prudence and caution, the Bank has been in the forefront of introducing various innovative services and systems. Business has been conducted with the successful blend of traditional values and ethics and the most modern infrastructure. The Bank has been the first among the nationalised banks to establish a fully computerised branch and ATM facility at the Mahalaxmi Branch at Mumbai way back in 1989. The Bank is also a Founder Member of SWIFT in India. It pioneered the introduction of the Health Code System in 1982, for evaluating/ rating its credit portfolio.

Presently, the Bank has overseas presence in 18 foreign countries spread over 5 continents – with 44 offices including 4 Subsidiaries, 1 Representative Offices and 1 Joint Venture, at key banking and financial centres viz., Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Paris and New York and DIFC Dubai.

Mr. Girish Kumar Singh

Mr. Girish Kumar Singh has been associated with Bank of India for over 32 years. He is a post graduate in Agriculture. During his banking career, Mr. Singh has worked in various capacities with good exposure in Agriculture, Administration at Branches and Zonal offices. Mr. Singh was posted as Zonal Manager in Raigad Zone for one year and thereafter as Zonal Manager Mumbai North Zone for over three years. His international banking exposure was at Paris for more than 4 years. He was elevated as General Manager of the Bank on May 13, 2020 and is presently heading Resource Mobilisation, Customer Excellence, Wealth Management, Marketing, Publicity & PR etc. departments at Bank of India’s Head Office.

Mr. Ganesan Rajamani

Mr. Ganesan Rajamani was associated with Bank of India (BOI) for more than 39 years. He has over 15 years of experience in Treasury and has also worked in Tokyo for 4 years as Head-Treasury. He has held several distinguished positions during his career with BOI and has effectively discharged his responsibilities in various facets of Treasury Function - Forex, Equity, Derivatives and Fixed Income segments. During his tenure with Bank of India, he held directorships of 6 associate companies of BOI. He was an advisor at Vijaya Bank and Bank of Baroda, during the Financial Year 2018-19 and at Canara Bank during the Financial Year 2019-20.

Mr. Parveen Kumar Gupta

Mr. Parveen Kumar Gupta led Retail Banking and Risk Management functions in State Bank of India, the largest commercial bank in India, having a balance sheet of more than USD 525 bn and ranked amongst the top 55 banks globally. During a career of over 37 years, Mr. Gupta dealt with all aspects of banking including retail, risk, compliance, treasury, international banking, investment banking, private equity etc. He was a part of the top management team of the Bank and a member of Board/Key Investment Committees for more than 4 years. He had also worked as CEO of Investment banking arm and as Deputy CEO of Infra fund set up by the Bank in partnership with Macquarie and IFC, World Bank Group. Mr. Gupta managed the Balance Sheet of the Bank as CFO, had two international postings and also headed Treasury of the Bank. At present Mr. Gupta is the Chairman (Non-Executive Part Time) of Utkarsh Small Finance Bank Limited and is also on the Boards of some companies.

Mr. M. Karthikeyan

Mr. M. Karthikeyan was General Manager (Corporate Development Officer) with Indian Bank. He is Master of Science in Agriculture, Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB), Diploma in GUI Application, Diploma in Management. During his professional journey of over 32 years, he has extensive exposure of Corporate office and field level banking. He was Zonal Manager of Dharmapuri, Pune and Chennai North Zone. He was Field General Manager Delhi Controlling 8 Zones. He has successfully headed the Recovery, Legal Department and HRM at Head Office.

He was also on the Board of Tamil Nadu Grama Bank which was formed as a merged entity of two RRBs namely Pandian Grama Bank, a subsidiary of Indian Overseas Bank with Pallavan Grama Bank, a subsidiary of Indian Bank.

He has taken charge as Executive Director, Bank of India on 10.03.2021.Presently at Bank of India he is handling the following Departments: Credit Monitoring, Recovery, Stressed Asset Resolutions, Financial Inclusion (RSETl's & RRBs), Govt. Business, Compliance, Publicity & PR, Bancassurance, CSR and Marketing.


Mr. Ashok K Pathak

Mr. Ashok Kumar Pathak started his career with Bank of India in May, 1992 and over a span of 28 years has held several distinguished positions during his career with Bank of India. In various capacities, he has effectively discharged his responsibilities as Branch Head, Zonal Head, NBG Head. Mr. Pathak has worked as Credit Head at BOI Nairobi from 2001-2008. Mr. Pathak believes in hard work and has always set high standards of commitment in each of his endeavors. He holds M.Sc. (Chemistry) from Gorakhpur University. Before joining Bank of India he has worked as Junior Research Fellow (CSIR) Applied Science Department of Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lucknow. Presently, Mr. Pathak is General Manager - Human Resources Department of Bank of India.

Mr. A K Bhargava

Mr. A K Bhargava has been associated with the Punjab National Bank (PNB) since 1965 till 2003, when he retired as General Manager. In his 38 years of tenure he headed various Bank departments such as Credit, Treasury, Management Advisory and Services Division, Priority Sector and Lead Bank Division, IT Division. He also headed various Zones and exceptionally large branches of the bank. Mr. Bhargava was a Member/Chairman of various committees constituted by PNB, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Indian Banks Association (IBA), etc. Mr. Bhargava is a Law Graduate & a Certified Associate of the India Institute of Bankers.

Mr. Himanshu Joshi

Mr. Himanshu Joshi has more than 35 years of rich experience in banking sector. Mr. Joshi is a graduate in Commerce with CAIIB and Diploma in Treasury & Risk Management. In his last assignment, Mr. Joshi held the position of Executive Director of Oriental Bank of Commerce from August 2016 to October 2018.

Mr. Joshi started his career in 1981 as a Management Trainee in Punjab National Bank. During his long career spanning over 34 years with Punjab National Bank, he worked in various capacities at Branches and Circle Offices of the Bank. On his elevation as General Manager in 2013, he was assigned the responsibility of Field General Manager of Bhopal. During his tenure, FGMO Bhopal was one of the top performing FGMO in Punjab National Bank and he was the first in the entire banking industry to introduce Rupay Personalized Debit Card in Hindi.

Thereafter, he was assigned with portfolio of Treasury Division at Mumbai in May 2015. At the time of his relieving from Punjab National Bank, he was the Chief Compliance Officer of the Bank.

Mr. Ram Krishna Sinha

Mr. Sinha joined Bank of India as a Direct Recruit Officer on completing his post-graduation in Physics with distinction. He served the Bank for over three decades, across key verticals of retail, credit, international, BPR, and Learning & Development. He also worked through different key roles in Nairobi, Kenya, in his foreign stint, and as In-charge Communications, working closely with McKinsey & Co., as part of the reorganizational change management initiative of his Bank. As General Manager- Learning & Development, and Business Process Re-engineering, in the Bank’s Corporate Office, he brought about novel changes in the arena of learning, training and business processes.

Mr. Sinha has authored a motivational book “X-Factor @ Workplace” published by Tata McGraw Hill, and is invested in management education/programs and competency mapping as a visiting faculty to management institutes, and as an Expert in Interview Committees in leading banks and financial institutions. He is also a Principal Advisor/Consultant, on Banking and Education, to National Productivity Council.

He writes extensively in newspapers and digital media of repute on the contemporary issues of Banking, HR, Strategic Planning and Corporate Leadership. He is an Opinion Columnist for the CEOWORLD magazine.


Mr. Chandrasekaran N
Chief Executive Officer (Interim Charge)

Chandrasekaran is a commerce graduate with CA (Inter) and has 30 years’ experience with 23 years exclusive experience in Mutual Fund industry. He was earlier associated with UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Ltd, and ICICI Prudential Asset Management in various capacities.

Mr. Alok Singh
Chief Investment Officer

Alok is a Post Graduate in Business Administration from ICFAI Business School and a CFA with over 20 years of experience in Fund Management. He has a wealth of experience and impressive track record in fund management both for resident as well as for overseas investors. As part of his previous employer BNP Paribas Mutual Fund, Alok has won numerous awards for stellar fund performance during his career span. Alok heads the overall Equity & Fixed Income Investment Operations for Bank of India Investment Managers as Chief Investment Officer.

Ms. Beena More
Vice President and Head of Human Resources

Beena is a Science Graduate and a certified Human Resource professional with over 20 years of diverse experience in financial services and other versatile businesses. Beena joined Bank of India IM in June 2006. Prior to which she was associated with Royal Sundaram General Insurance, MSC Shipping, Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Pvt. Ltd and Bhimrajka Impex Group maneuvering multi-dimensional role and responsibilities. Beena leads the entire spectrum of Human Resource function for Bank of India Investment Managers as Vice- President and Head of Human Resources.

Mr. Harish Kumar
Company Secretary & Compliance Officer

Harish is a Commerce and Law Graduate and Company Secretary with over 15 years of experience in Company Secretarial function, Compliances, Regulatory affairs and Legal. Prior joining to Bank of India, Harish was Sr. Vice President & Company Secretary with National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX), Mumbai. His previous stints includes YES Bank Limited, Financial Technologies (India) Ltd., Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and TDI Infrastructure Ltd. Harish is Company Secretary and Compliance Officer at Bank of India Investment Managers.

Fund Managers

Mr. Aakash Manghani

Aakash has over 12 years of experience in financial markets with over ten years of rich experience in equity research and portfolio management. Aakash joined Bank of India Investment Managers in 2015, his prior experience is with firms such as Pioneer Investcorp, Girik Capital and Amdocs. Aakash earned an MBA from SP Jain School of Global Management and a Bachelors in Engineering (B.E.) from Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai.

Mr. Mithraem Bharucha

Mithraem Bharucha joined Bank of India Investment Managers in August 2021 and has more than 14 years of experience in the fixed income markets- trading and portfolio management. Prior to Bank of India Investment Managers, he was associated with organizations such as YES Mutual Fund and BNP Paribas Mutual fund. His qualifications include Bachelor's degree in Management Studies from Mumbai University and Master’s in Business Administration with specialization in Finance.

Mr. Dhruv Bhatia

Dhruv Bhatia has over 10 years of experience in equity research and portfolio management and currently serves as an Equity Fund Manager at Bank of India Investment Managers. In his last assignment, Dhruv was working with Sixteenth Street Capital Pte. as an Investment Consultant. Previously he has worked with firms such as AUM Fund Advisors LLP and Sahara Mutual Fund as an equity research analyst. Dhruv holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies from University of Mumbai and MBA from SIES College of Management Studies, Mumbai.
